Trends come and go, and this is certainly the case where digital and content marketing is concerned. Here are some interesting trends we are starting to see emerge which could help you with your marketing efforts in 2015.
It’s All About Email…Again!
Some trends come full circle, and this happens to be the case with email marketing. In fact, more and more businesses are starting to shift their single-minded focus from social media and coming back to tried and tested methods like email instead. One reason could be that Facebook made significant algorithm changes (not Google this time!) that have had a negative effective on business pages and Facebook campaigns.
Forget Leads. It’s All About Subscribers
The days of collecting names and passing them on to the sales team are not yet over, but there is a new way of winning business, and more and more organizations are adopting it. By creating amazing content that is easily accessible on their websites, these organizations don’t just collect opt-in names, but build a loyal and trusting audience that is more receptive to receiving updates and offers. When you know a lead is more receptive, open to engagement, that’s when you can send the lead on to sales.
Less is More
Remember the days where you were panicking that you hadn’t posted a blog post for the day? Well, the good news is that less is now more, so you don’t need to worry so much about daily content creation. Think more about the level of content, the relevance of that content and focus on getting that content liked and shared. You can even reuse the content from older posts, especially the content that received a lot of interest.
Long Form Content Is Back
Ever been told to keep your blog posts to 500 words or less? Well, what if you’ve got more to say, or your audience is expecting you to say more? You only have to look at websites like The Huffington Post to see that long form content is actually okay. As long as you hook your readers in from the start and keep them interested, what’s to say they won’t keep reading a 2,000 word article?
