Guest Blogging Tips

If you haven’t already started guest blogging, you could be missing out on a huge opportunity to market your brand and share your expert knowledge with others.  Guest blogging is of mutual benefit to all parties involved.  By posting engaging, relevant and fresh content on third party blogs you raise their traffic and online profile and also raise exposure of your own brand by including backlinks in your articles.

Here at MintCopy, we get a truckload of spam guest posts and comments submitted to us every day. (Of course, we report them—we strongly dislike spammers!) Not bragging, but we have carved quite a niche as web copywriters and SEO writers. We are based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada but we serve clients across the Greater Toronto Area, all over Canada and USA, as well as in Europe and the Middle East. Our site and blog rank high on major search engines for some very competitive terms in the content marketing industry. And we didn’t get here by any form of blackhat SEO techniques. It has been a result of sheer hard work and consistently adding fresh, valuable online content.

SO, before you go ahead and start submitting guest posts all over the web, read our content marketing tips so that you get your guest blogging efforts off to a great start.

  • Read blogging guidelines VERY carefully - Most blogs accepting guest posts will have a strict set of guidelines and you will need to stick to these if you want your post to pass with flying colours and get published.  These rules may stipulate the length of the piece, what topics the site is accepting and what tone and style they need the post to be in.
  • One guest blog does not a marketing strategy make - You may not see returns from one guest blog, or two or even ten.  Even if you get a blog published on a popular blog site with high traffic, you may not receive any referral traffic from that site at first.  Keep it going!  The more high quality content you have online, the more chances you have of somebody seeing it and liking it, and fresh content is always good for your Google rankings.
  • Make your guest blogging efforts count - Choose the most relevant blogs to submit your guest blogs to.  If you are running an auto repairs business there is little point in sending a guest post to a fashion brand.  Make posts relevant, stick to the guidelines and keep them fresh and interesting.

Alternatively, you could let MintCopy handle your guest blogs for you.  We can get started today. Contact us now at 888-646-8003 or send us an email to find out more.

Revitalize, Refine, Repurpose

The Pareto principle is also known as the 80/20 rule. About 80% of your best results will come from 20% of your efforts. When you apply that to a creative endeavour like content marketing, you might be undervaluing some of your content creative efforts. It can be expensive to create content, from scheduling videographers, photographers, models, or even having quality copywriters write a blog post. Chances are that you have some valuable content that can be recycled or repurposed with a little elbow grease.
